While expecting good work from the police, it is the responsibility of the government to provide them with good infrastructure and an additional fund of Rs 10 crore will be provided under the district annual plan to meet the needs of the Satara police force, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He was speaking at the inauguration of a new police station building in Vaduj.

Mr Pawar said that considering the stress on the police, police recruitment has been allowed. Special attention is being paid to solving the problems of the police. The police should create an atmosphere of trust in the minds of the people through ‘smart policing’.

Build a good image through speedy investigation of crimes, accuracy, use of new technology, efficient use of infrastructure, enhanced interaction with the police force. The rating of the police station should be fixed.

While accepting responsibility as a challenge, the police should ensure that the public is not harmed by criminal tendencies and organized crime is cracked down on. Special attention should be paid to law and order in the district. He hoped that the criminals would feel the support of the police and the common people would come to their aid.

The safety of women is a top priority.

The government is giving top priority to the safety of women and the incidence of violence against women is a matter of concern. Efforts are being made to punish the perpetrators severely. The government will try to bring the ‘Shakti’ law to the Nagpur convention. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawar appealed to the people to convey their views to the government through the people’s representatives, emphasize creating a sense of respect and equality for women and start from home.

Guardian Minister Mr Patil said that while development is taking place in Vadodara, the population is also increasing. The area has a reputation for tranquillity. The facilities at the new Imati in the police station will be useful to create a better security environment. A provision of Rs 300 crore has also been made for Satara Sainik School and necessary works will be undertaken for the overall development of the district.

The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr Desai, said that most of the police station buildings are in the British era and need to be renovated. For the last two years, the government has provided additional provisions to the Police Housing Department. Many families have been relieved by the decision to provide financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh to the families of police personnel who died in the line of duty during the Kovid period. He said there was also an emphasis on repairing old police colonies.

In the introduction, the Superintendent of Police Mr Bansal informed about the new building of the police station.
