3 Role models visit Maharashtra Parichaya Kendra; The glory will be at the hands of the President.
New Delhi: National Disability Role Model Award winners Rajesh Asudani of Nagpur, Prathamesh Date of Kolhapur and native of
Maharashtra and now Delhikar Devanshi Joshi, who have overcome disability and created an independent identity, visited the Maharashtra Parichaya Kendra.
The trio will be honoured with the National Disability Role Model Award by President Ramnath Kovind today.
They were invited to the Maharashtra Introduction Center. Amarjyot Kaur Arora, Public Relations Officer and Deputy Director (AC) of Parichay Kendra congratulated the three role models with a bouquet of flowers.
Information Officer Anju Nimsarkar, Deputy Editor Riteish Bhuyar along with the families of the award winners were present on the occasion. During the informal discussion, the three role models shared information about their work.
Rajesh Asudani has been awarded the National Disability Role Model Award by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the visually impaired category.
Mr Asudani, who was born blind, achieved success by overcoming the difficulties that came his way. He holds an MA (English) and an LL.B. from Nagpur University. Passed the degree examination with 19 gold medals. Explaining that the journey of life started from zero and settled at zero, he said that the school had got zero marks in the first class and now we are working as Assistant General Manager in Reserve Bank of India in Nagpur city which has zero mark.
Mr Adusani is a poet and author who has published three books. He is actively associated with two organizations for the education and employment of the disabled.
Prathamesh Date has been awarded the National Disability Role Model Award in the category of Intellectual Disability.
His mother Sharda and father Prakash Date worked hard to enable him to live like a normal child. At first, he underwent various treatments and completed his education up to the 9th standard. He first introduced computer, DTP and library knowledge and for the last 15 years, he has been working at DKTE in Ichalkaranji.
He is working as an Assistant Librarian at the Institute of Textile Engineering. Prathamesh has spoken on the international stage. The journey of the fast-paced Prathamesh to international celebrity is astounding. Prathamesh has already received the National Award for Outstanding Employee of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the year 2010.
Devanshi Joshi has been awarded the National Disability Role Model Award in the category of Intellectual Disability. The gods are suffering from Down Syndrome. Originally from Nagpur, Devani has completed his education up to the 12th standard from National Open School.
She is currently working full time in the fashion department at Big Bazaar in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. Earlier in 2016, he was honoured with the National Award for Outstanding Employee of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Along with these three role models, eight Divyangs from Maharashtra and Public Works Department from Nashik have been awarded the National Divyang Award for the year 2020. They include Dr Poonam Upadhye from Sangli, Nikita Raut from Mumbai, Sanika Bedi from Pune, Preeti Pohekar from Latur, Devdatta Mane from Kolhapur, Neha Pawaskar from Mumbai, Sagar Badve from Aurangabad and Vaishnavi Carpenter from Kolhapur.
All of them will be felicitated by President Ramnath Kovind at a function to be held at Vigyan Bhavan on Friday.
