Relife to Pune residents, Corona’s number dropped!
Restrictions and lockdowns have seen a decline in the number of daily new corona patients in the city over the past six days. The reduction of about one and a half to two thousand patients has brought some relief. The second wave of corona in the district, including the city, began in the second week of February. In this wave, 7 thousand 10 infected patients were found in Pune city on 8th April from 23 to 24 thousand samples.
Strict restrictions were then imposed on the city. This led to a gradual decrease in the number of victims. The number of infected patients in the city was six thousand 443 on the 18th, after which the number of infected people has started coming down instead of increasing. On April 24, the growing number in the city was 3,991, while the number of sample checks was 22,130, which means that in the last six days, the number of daily patients has dropped by 2,000, That compares to 20,000 to 22,000 samples without reducing the number of inspections.
According to the health department, the total number of patients in the city was 395440 on Saturday, while 4,789 patients were discharged during the day. Because of this total number of cured patients reached 3 Lakh, 39 thousand 571. The number of patient tests in the city has crossed the 20 lakh mark. Twenty-two thousand 274 tests were conducted on Saturday. The total number of tests in the last year has gone up to twenty lakh 13 thousand 703. Considering the total population of the city, about 50 percent of the tests have been completed so far.
Approval of 100 oxygen beds in Hadapsar.
Hadapsar has become a corona hotspot and many people have lost their lives due to the non-availability of oxygen beds. Citizens had been demanding for several days to get a municipal oxygen bed in Hadapsar. This demand has been successful and the oxygen bed has been approved by the Pune Municipal Commissioner. While the number of corona patients is increasing rapidly in Pune city, Hadapsar has become a coronavirus hot spot. As a result, all the hospitals in Hadapsar are full, oxygen bed ventilators are not available.
Due to the increasing number of patients and insufficient beds, MP Amol Kolhe, MLA Chetan Tupe, and NCP corporators have been following up with the Pune Municipal Commissioner for the last six months. The commissioner has approved the oxygen beds and the administration will soon take action to install oxygen beds in Annasaheb Magar Hospital and Bankar School here.
Former mayor Vaishali Bankar, corporator Bandu Tatya Gaikwad, Yogesh Sasane, corporator Hemalata Magar, Pooja Kodre, Anand Alkunte, and Ashok Kamble had followed up with the municipal commissioner to make oxygen beds available to the citizens of Hadapsar. One hundred beds should be made at Annasaheb Magar Hospital and Bankar School. After several days of follow-up, the commissioner finally approved the oxygen bed in Hadapsar. They have demanded immediate action.
Young generation the Corona spreader.
The second wave of the corona is affecting a large number of older and younger children. Young people are the biggest culprit in spreading the infection. Although children and senior citizens stay at home, young people at home go out for various reasons and come back with corona. For activities other than vegetable medicine or groceries, or any other work, easily goes out to meet friends.
Most young people go out as they don’t have any fear like they had last year. There is indifference in their behavior, they behave carelessly. They don’t wear masks properly. Although the lockdown continues in the city, they are coming out for various reasons. This brings corona into the house from outside, they come in contact with the people in the house and they are spreading corona to senior citizens and children with it. Although coronary symptoms appear mild in young people, they are more severe in seniors infected with them. This will reduce the number of infections caused by young people if they act responsibly.
The hospital premises should be vacated by the police.
Hadapsar NCP’s request for 100 oxygen beds at Annasaheb Magar Hospital in Magarpatta for the last eight months has been approved by the Municipal Corporation. However, there is an office of Crime Branch Unit 5 on the site of the hospital at Magarpatta. The commissioner of police has instructed to relocate the office. MLA Chetan Tupe said that the police should immediately vacate the hospital premises.
MP Dr. Amol Kolhe Tupe’s city NCP Shiv Sena and Congress office-bearers had demanded oxygen beds. Six months ago, the Commissioner of Police issued instructions to relocate the crime branch office on the site of the hospital.
Is there a need for additional vaccination centers?
In the last few days, leaders and activists from various parties have been demanding the launch of a covid center or vaccination center in their area.
Basically, adhering to strict restrictions imposed by the state government will help reduce corona infection. This will make it more important to pay attention to how the lock-down rules are enforced in the ward. Each elected member must ensure that citizens are following the lockdown rules in the ward. so that, corona infection will not increase and as a result, there will be no need for the covid center.
If all the activists or leaders demand to start a covid center or vaccination center in their ward, the municipal or state government will need the extra manpower of doctors, trained nurses, and other trained workers. It is not possible to do all this at present. There is a shortage of vaccines. Therefore, vaccination centers we are having should be maintained at full capacity and the use of vaccines in time will help prevent infection.
