9,170 new Covid-19 patients registered in Maharashtra, Mumbai has the highest number of corona patients in the state.
The state government has warned citizens to abide by the Covid rules or face stricter restrictions.
MUMBAI: Covid is on the rise in Maharashtra with 19 cases including Omicron type. The state yesterday registered 9170 new corona patients including six omicron types, bringing the total number of omicron type patients to 460.
As a result, the number of active patients in the state has reached 32 thousand 225. The highest number of 22 thousand 334 patients are in Mumbai. Yesterday, 1,445 patients recovered and went home, while 7 patients died.
So far 66 lakh 87 thousand 991 people have been infected with a corona in the state. Out of which 65 lakh 10 thousand 541 patients have been cured so far. So, 1 lakh 41 thousand 533 patients died.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has warned the state to impose strict restrictions if the number of Covid-19 patients continues to rise.
The coronation rate in the state has come down to 97 integers 35 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2 integer 11 per cent. Six new cases of omecron infection were found in the state yesterday. Out of which 3 are from rural Pune, 2 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and 1 patient is from Pune Municipal Corporation area.
So far 460 omecron infected patients have been registered in the state. Of these, 180 patients have been discharged home after their RTPCR test was negative, the health department said.
