Pune’s B.J. Government medical colleges have a long tradition of patient care. BJ Medical College is one of the leading institutes in the country for producing specialist doctors for society. The work of BJ Medical College will go down in history for its patient service during the Amritmahotsavi period and for its conscientiousness during the Corona period, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today.
The program was organized on the occasion of Amritmahotsav of BJ Government Medical College, Pune. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had participated in the event online. Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh (via VC), MLA Chetan Tupe, Medical Education Secretary Saurabh Vijay, YASHADA Director-General and Sassoon Hospital Coordinator S. Dr Chokkalingam, Director of Medical Education Dr Tatyarao Lahane, Dean of BJ Government Medical College Muralidhar Tambe, Co-Director Dr Ajay Chandanwale was present. 
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the BJ Medical College affiliated with Sassoon Hospital was started in Pune and in the state, creating a glorious tradition of patient service. This medical college has served the people and patients of Pune and the state for many years. Many students studying in this medical college are serving patients at home and abroad as specialist doctors. Many dignitaries including Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi have been treated at Sassoon Hospital. Even in the corona crisis that has been going on for the last one and a half years, many have been treated at this hospital and recovered. In the crisis of Corona, Sassoon Hospital and b. J. Medical colleges have become our mainstay. The work done by Sassoon Hospital and BJ Medical College during the Corona Crisis and the patient care rendered will go down in history.
Sassoon and BJ Medical College are government institutions. These organizations work with the goal of patient care and social service. During the Corona period, many patients were admitted to private hospitals for the first time for treatment, but they were admitted to Sassoon Hospital for better treatment. Sassoon is believed to have better state-of-the-art treatment and patient care services than any other private hospital. Many patients used to come here in critical condition, we have saved the lives of many of them. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar appealed to the college to continue the work of creating a state-of-the-art treatment system, quality patient care, expert doctors for society.
Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh said BJ Medical College has a glorious history. Even in the Corona crisis, BJ Medical College has maintained its glorious history. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is always ready to address the issues of the medical education department including BJ Medical College. Deshmukh thanked the Deputy Chief Minister.
बी.जे. वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाच्या रुग्णसेवेसह कोरोना काळात बजावलेल्या कर्तव्यनिष्ठेची नोंद इतिहासात होईल -उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांचे गौरवोद्गार
पुण्याच्या बी.जे. शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाला रुग्णसेवेची प्रदीर्घ परंपरा आहे. समाजासाठी तज्ज्ञ डॉक्टर घडविणाऱ्या देशभरातील संस्थांमध्ये बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाचा अव्वल क्रमांक लागतो. अमृतमहोत्सवी वाटचालीत केलेल्या रुग्णसेवेबद्दल आणि कोरोना काळात बजावलेल्या कर्तव्यनिष्ठेबद्दल बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाच्या कार्याची नोंद इतिहासात होईल, असे गौरोवोद्गार उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांनी आज काढले.
पुण्याच्या बी.जे.शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाच्या अमृतमहोत्सवानिमित्त कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. या कार्यक्रमात उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार ऑनलाईन सहभागी झाले होते. यावेळी वैद्यकीय शिक्षणमंत्री अमित देशमुख (व्हिसीद्वारे), आमदार चेतन तुपे, वैद्यकीय शिक्षण सचिव सौरभ विजय, यशदाचे महासंचालक तथा ससून रुग्णालयाचे समन्वयक एस. चोक्कलिंगम, वैद्यकीय शिक्षण संचालक डॉ. तात्याराव लहाने, बी.जे.शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाचे अधिष्ठाता डॉ. मुरलीधर तांबे, सहसंचालक डॉ. अजय चंदनवाले उपस्थित होते.
उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार म्हणाले, पुण्यात आणि राज्यात रुग्णसेवेचा आदर्श, गौरवशाली परंपरा निर्माण करणाऱ्या ससून रुग्णालयाच्या संलग्न बी.जे.मेडिकल कॉलेजची सुरुवात झाली. या वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाने पुण्यातील तसेच राज्यातील जनतेची, रुग्णांची अनेक वर्षे सेवा केली आहे. या वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयात शिकून अनेक विद्यार्थी तज्ज्ञ डॉक्टर म्हणून रुग्णांची देश-विदेशात सेवा करत आहेत. ससून रुग्णालयात राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधींसह अनेक मान्यवरांनी उपचार घेतले आहेत. गेल्या दिड वर्षापासून सुरु असलेल्या कोरोनाच्या संकटातही अनेकांनी या रुग्णालयामध्ये उपचार घेतले आणि ते बरे झाले. कोरोनाच्या संकटात, ससून रुग्णालय आणि बी. जे. वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय हे आपले प्रमुख आधारस्तंभ बनले आहेत. कोरोना संकटकाळात ससून रुग्णालय आणि बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाने केलेल्या कामाची आणि दिलेल्या रुग्णसेवेची नोंद इतिहासात होईल.
ससून आणि बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय या शासकीय संस्था आहेत. रुग्णसेवा आणि समाजसेवा या ध्येयाने या संस्था काम करतात. कोरोनाकाळात अनेक रुग्ण उपचारासाठी पहिल्यांदा खाजगी रुग्णालयात दाखल झाले, मात्र चांगले उपचार मिळावेत, यासाठी ते ससून रुग्णालयात भरती होत होते. कोणत्याही खाजगी हॉस्पिटलपेक्षा चांगली अत्याधुनिक उपचार यंत्रणा आणि रुग्णसेवा ससूनमध्ये मिळते, हा लोकांचा विश्वास आहे. अनेक रुग्ण गंभीर अवस्थेत इथे यायचे, त्यातल्या अनेकांचे प्राण आपण वाचवले आहेत. अत्याधुनिक उपचार यंत्रणा, दर्जेदार रुग्णसेवा, समाजासाठी तज्ज्ञ डॉक्टर निर्माण करण्याचे काम महाविद्यालयाने कायम सुरु ठेवावे, असे आवाहन उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांनी केले.
वैद्यकीय शिक्षण मंत्री अमित देशमुख म्हणाले, बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाला गौरवशाली इतिहास आहे. कोरोना संकटातही बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयाने आपला गौरवशाली इतिहास कायम ठेवला आहे. बी.जे.वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालयासह वैद्यकीय शिक्षण विभागाचे प्रश्न मार्गी लावण्यासाठी उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार हे कायम तत्पर असतात, कोरोना काळात त्यांनी आपल्या विभागाला निधी कमी पडू दिला नाही, त्याबद्दल श्री. देशमुख यांनी उपमुख्यमंत्र्यांचे आभार मानले.
