Pune Municipal Corporation finally includes 23 villages. Notification issued by the State Government.

The final decision to include 23 villages around the city in the Pune Municipal Corporation was finally taken by the state government on Wednesday. Due to this decision, Pune has become the largest municipal corporation in the state. According to the administration’s estimate, due to the inclusion of these villages, the boundary of NMC has increased to 485 square kilometres, while according to the claim of the revenue department, the boundary of Pune Municipal Corporation has become 516 square kilometres. 

The Haveli Taluka Civil Action Committee had filed a petition in the High Court seeking inclusion of 34 villages around the city in the municipal corporation. Following the court’s decision to include these villages, the state government on October 4, 2017, included 11 out of 34 villages. It was decided to include the remaining 23 villages in phases. The then state government had asked the High Court for a period of three years to include these 23 villages. The deadline was October. After the transfer of power in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has taken an immediate decision to include these villages in the Municipal Corporation. 

Mahalunge, Soos, Bawadhan (Budruk), Kirkatwadi, Pisoli, Kondhve Dhavade, Kopare, Nanded, Khadakwasla, Manjari (Bu.), Narhe, Holkarwadi, Autade-Handewadi, Vadachiwadi, Shewalewadi, Nandoshi, Sansanwadi, Mangdewadi, Bhilwara , Jambhulwadi, Kolewadi, Wagholi.

The High Court had on Tuesday rejected a petition challenging the holding of Gram Panchayat elections in three of the included villages. After that, the government has issued a notification to include these villages in the municipal corporation in just 24 hours. The State Election Commission has been asked to postpone the polls in these three villages for three months. According to the administration’s estimate, after the inclusion of these villages, the municipal area will be 485 square kilometres, while according to the revenue department, the municipal area will be 516 square kilometres.

शहरालगतच्या २३ गावांचा पुणे महापालिकेत समावेश करण्याचा अंतिम निर्णय राज्य सरकारने अखेर आज बुधवारी घेतला. या निर्णयामुळे पुणे ही राज्यातील सर्वाधिक मोठी महापालिका ठरली आहे. प्रशासनाच्या अंदाजानुसार, ही गावे समाविष्ट झाल्यामुळे महापालिकेची हद्द ४८५ चौरस किलोमीटर, तर महसूल विभागाच्या दाव्यानुसार पुणे महापालिकेची हद्द ५१६ चौरस किलोमीटर झाली आहे.

हवेली तालुका नागरी कृती समितीने उच्च न्यायालयात याचिका दाखल करून शहरालगतची ३४ गावे महापालिकेत समाविष्ट करण्याची मागणी केली होती. न्यायालयाने ही गावे समाविष्ट करण्याचा निर्णय दिल्यानंतर राज्य सरकारने चार ऑक्टोबर २०१७ ला ३४ पैकी ११ गावांचा समावेश केला. उर्वरित २३ गावांचा टप्प्याटप्प्याने समावेश करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला होता. ही २३ गावे समाविष्ट करण्यासाठी तत्कालीन राज्य सरकारने तीन वर्षांची मुदत उच्च न्यायालयाकडे मागितली होती. ही मुदत ऑक्टोबर महिन्यात संपली होती. राज्यातील सत्तांतरानंतर ही गावे महापालिकेत समाविष्ट करण्यासाठी उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांनी तातडीने निर्णय घेतला आहे.

म्हाळुंगे, सूस, बावधन (बुद्रुक), किरकटवाडी, पिसोळी, कोंढवे धावडे, कोपरे, नांदेड, खडकवासला, मांजरी (बु.), नऱ्हे, होळकरवाडी, औताडे-हांडेवाडी, वडाचीवाडी, शेवाळेवाडी, नांदोशी, सणसनगर, मांगडेवाडी, भिलारेवाडी, गुजर निंबाळकरवाडी, जांभूळवाडी, कोळेवाडी, वाघोली.
या समाविष्ट गावांपैकी तीन गावांची ग्रामपंचायत निवडणूक घेण्यास विरोध करणारी याचिका हायकोर्टाने मंगळवारी फेटा‌ळली होती. त्यानंतर सरकारने अवघ्या २४ तासांत ही गावे महापालिकेत समाविष्ट करण्याची अधिसूचना काढली आहे. या तीन गावांच्या निवडणुकांना स्थगिती देऊन त्या तीन महिने पुढे ढकलण्याची विनंती राज्य निवडणूक आयोगाला करण्यात आली आहे. प्रशासनाच्या अंदाजानुसार, ही गावे समाविष्ट झाल्यानंतर महापालिकेची हद्द ४८५ चौरस किलोमीटर, तर महसूल विभागाच्या दाव्यानुसार महापालिकेची हद्द ५१६ चौरस किलोमीटर होणार आहे.
