The fortnight will be implemented in six districts of Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia, Nanded and Yavatmal till July 15. It was inaugurated by state health minister Rajesh Tope today. The Health Minister appealed to the agencies to work on mission mode for the eradication of elephantiasis from Maharashtra.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Commissioner Dr. Ramaswamy, Director Dr. Archana Pawar along with District Collectors of six districts, District Health Officers and District Surgeons were present on the occasion.
The 18 districts in the state were known as elephantiasis prone districts. Out of these, a community medicine campaign has been successfully implemented in twelve districts namely Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, Latur, Akola, Nandurbar, Solapur, Osmanabad, Amravati, Thane, Palghar, Nagpur and Wardha. Currently, the campaign will be implemented in the remaining six districts from today till July 15.
The health minister said that the target has been set to provide 1 crore 3 lakh people in 8098 villages in six districts of Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia, Nanded and Yavatmal to take preventive pills. In all the six districts, the district collectors have convened coordination committee meetings and 41,352 staff and 4,135 supervisors have been appointed for the distribution of tablets to the citizens. The health minister appealed to the employees to follow the Corona Prevention Rules and make the campaign a success on mission mode.

पंधरवडा 15 जुलैपर्यंत चंद्रपूर, गडचिरोली, भंडारा, गोंदिया, नांदेड आणि यवतमाळ या सहा जिल्ह्यांमध्ये राबविण्यात येणार असून त्याचा शुभारंभ आज राज्याचे आरोग्यमंत्री राजेश टोपे यांच्या हस्ते झाला. महाराष्ट्रातून हत्तीरोग निर्मूलनासाठी यंत्रणांनी मिशन मोडवर काम करावे, असे आवाहन आरोग्यमंत्र्यांनी केले.
दूरदृष्य प्रणालीच्या माध्यमातून सार्वत्रिक औषधोपचार मोहिमेचा ऑनलाईन शुभारंभ प्रसंगी आरोग्य विभागाचे अपर मुख्य सचिव डॉ.प्रदीप व्यास, आयुक्त डॉ.रामास्वामी, संचालक डॉ.अर्चना पवार यांच्यासह सहाही जिल्ह्यांचे जिल्हाधिकारी, जिल्हा आरोग्य अधिकारी, जिल्हा शल्य चिकित्सक उपस्थित होते.
राज्यातील 18 जिल्हे हत्तीरोग प्रवण जिल्हे म्हणून ओळखले जायचे. त्यापैकी जळगाव, सिंधुदुर्ग, लातूर, अकोला, नंदुरबार, सोलापूर, उस्मानाबाद, अमरावती, ठाणे, पालघर, नागपूर आणि वर्धा या बारा जिल्ह्यांमध्ये सामुदायिक औषधोपचार मोहीम यशस्वीपणे राबविल्यामुळे या जिल्ह्यांमध्ये आता ही मोहीम बंद करण्यात आली आहे. सध्या उर्वरित सहा जिल्ह्यांमध्ये ही मोहीम आजपासून 15 जुलैपर्यंत राबविली जाणार आहे.
चंद्रपूर, गडचिरोली, भंडारा, गोंदिया, नांदेड व यवतमाळ या सहा जिल्ह्यांमध्ये 8098 गावांमधील 1 कोटी 3 लाख लोकांना हत्तीरोग विरोधी गोळ्या सेवन करण्यासाठीचे उद्दिष्ट निश्चित करण्यात आले असल्याचे आरोग्यमंत्र्यांनी सांगितले. या सहाही जिल्ह्यांमध्ये जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांनी समन्वय समितीच्या सभा घेतल्या असून नागरीकांना गोळ्या वाटपासाठी 41 हजार 352 कर्मचारी व 4135 पर्यवेक्षकांची नेमणूक करण्यात आली आहे. कर्मचाऱ्यांनी कोरोना प्रतिबंधात्मक नियमांचे पालन करुन मिशन मोडवर ही मोहीम यशस्वी करावी असे आवाहन आरोग्यमंत्र्यांनी केले.
