Apart from resolving the issue of housing police officers and employees in the state, the state government is also making efforts to empower the police force. Against this backdrop, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reviewed the construction of police station buildings in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad city and Pune district, availability of manpower and law and order in a meeting held at the Ministry today. The work of all the sanctioned police stations and staff colonies in the state should be completed in a quality and timely manner. If there are any problems in this regard, they should be sorted out immediately and law and order in the state should be maintained in any case, the Deputy Chief Minister gave clear instructions in the meeting.

Guiding the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the state government has been working with priority to empower the police department in the state as well as to address the housing issue of police personnel. To reduce the stress on the police administration due to the growing population in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad city and district, some new police stations have already been sanctioned in the district. The issue of building construction with the required manpower for these newly sanctioned police stations should be sorted out immediately. Senior officers should come out and work to maintain law and order in the Pune district. He directed that care should be taken not to create a sense of insecurity in the minds of the citizens under any circumstances.
Apart from approving the addition of some police stations in the Pune rural area, Pune Police Commissionerate and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, new police stations have also been approved in the district. The newly constructed police station buildings should be constructed with impeccability and for the next fifty years. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also suggested that funds should be made available from the CSR fund of the industry to provide more facilities to police stations and staff colonies. Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, as well as the present status of the work being carried out by the Pune Rural Police administration in their area of work, was presented at the meeting.
