Fee waivers for agricultural course students due to corona outbreak; 45,000 students in the state will benefit.

Agriculture Minister Dadaji Bhuse today announced that all the four agricultural universities in the state will provide fee concessions to undergraduate, postgraduate and Acharya course students on the lines of non-agricultural universities in the state due to the corona outbreak. Therefore, 45,000 students from a total of 189 colleges in the state, 38 government and 151 non-subsidized, will benefit. The Agriculture Minister has also decided to waive the entire fee till the completion of ongoing undergraduate or postgraduate studies of students whose parents have died due to corona.

Students should not be barred from registering for the session and applying for the exam if the fee is outstanding. The Agriculture Minister directed that care should be taken not to cause any educational loss to the students. Agriculture Minister Dada Bhuse

A meeting of the Vice-Chancellors was held today under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Mr Bhuse to give concessions in various fees for all degree, post-graduate and Acharya courses of all government and non-government colleges under the state.

The following decisions were taken at this meeting:

Student Assistance Fund, Student Safety Insurance Fee, Annual Prize Giving Ceremony Fee, College Magazine, Ashwamedh / Sports Festival Fee, Student Medical Examination Fee, Identity Card, Student Assistance / Help / Welfare Fund It was decided to give 100 per cent rebate in the charges levied on matters for which no expenses have been incurred.

As gymkhana, sports and other activities and maintenance of the library and purchase of e-content in the library have been spent, a 50 per cent rebate should be given in this regard. Since the dormitory is not being used by the students, the dormitory fee should be completely waived.

50 per cent rebate should be given in the development fee levied by permanent non-subsidized colleges. Students should be given the concession to pay the fees pending in the previous session in 3 to 4 instalments.

Secretary of Agriculture Department Eknath Dawale, Director General of Agriculture Council Vishwajeet Mane, Director Dr Harihar Kausdikar, Vice Chancellors of all four universities, Dr Vilas Bhale, Vice-Chancellor of Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University in Akola; Dr Ashok Dhawan, Vice-Chancellor, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani; Dr Prashant Patil, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Phule Agricultural University at Rahuri, Dr Balasaheb Sawant, Vice-Chancellor of Konkan Agricultural University at Dapoli. Sanjay Sawant and Dr Ashok Farande, Chairman of the Presiding Committee were present.
