Co-operative societies with less than 50 members are allowed to hold annual general meetings with the direct participation of the members.

The co-operatives were allowed to hold the annual general meeting online as the state was required to observe social distances on the corona background. The Department of Co-operation has issued an order allowing all co-operative societies with less than 50 members to hold annual general meetings with the direct participation of its members.  Mantralaya

Also, all co-operative societies with more than 50 members should convene an annual general meeting through VC or OAVM. Every member of the organization should be informed about the date, time, place and online link of the annual general meeting at least seven days in advance via SMS, mail, WhatsApp.

Notice of Annual General Meeting should be posted on the notice board of the organization, branch offices of the organization at this place. Also, the members who do not have email, address or mobile number for contact should be informed about the subject to be discussed in the meeting by letter within seven days. All co-operative societies should advertise their annual general meetings in at least one local newspaper, one district newspaper or in a state-level Marathi or English newspaper, depending on the scope of work of the society.

When advertising in a newspaper, it should include the following

VC or OAVM (Other Audio-Visual Means) will be used to conduct the Annual General Meeting.
Date and time of the meeting.
Members who have not registered their email ID or mobile number with the concerned co-operative society should mention the details of where to submit the information.
To conduct the Annual General Meeting of the Co-operative Societies through VC or OAVM (Other Audio-Visual Means), the Co-operative Society should conduct the proceedings of the Co-operative Society on the advice of an expert available to them or by selecting an agency. Also, while selecting the agency, the agency using Marathi software should be considered as a priority. Strict adherence to these guidelines should prompt organizations to hold their annual general meetings.
