The success of 209 students in the 12th standard examination in children’s homes.
209 students from children’s homes in the state have passed the examination in high school (class 12th) and achieved brilliant success. “Family love and a safe environment are not the keys to success, but the children have shown that perseverance and passion for education can overcome adversity,” said Women and Child Development Minister Adv. Yashomati Thakur. She has praised these children.
Children in need of care and protection for various reasons in the state are referred to the Child Welfare Committee under the Juvenile Justice Act. After all the legal process, these children are admitted to the children’s homes and the children in conflict with the criminal background (Child in Conflict with Law) are admitted to the rehabilitation centre for rehabilitation. The government provides all the facilities for the upbringing, education and overall development of these children.
Orphans, destitute children, single parents, children from single-parent families who have disintegrated due to death, divorce, separation, abandonment, unmarried motherhood, serious illness, parental hospitalization, leprosy and children serving life sentences, HIV Affected/affected children, severe marital discord between parents, extreme neglect and neglect, children in exceptional circumstances such as court or police complaint cases, released and certified by the labour department, out-of-school child labourers etc. are kept in children’s homes. The responsibility for the education of these children with a view to their future is taken up by the department. For this, these children are given guidance and help for school as well as higher education.
On this occasion, the children in the children’s homes have shown that not only all the facilities are required to be successful, but also a bright success can be achieved even in adverse conditions due to perseverance. The study attitude and intelligence of these students have been tested by the officers and staff of the Department of Women and Child Development and they have been encouraged to study and the study done by these children has been successful. It is noteworthy that out of these 290, the girl from Pune children’s homes has got the honour of coming first among the students of children’s homes with 90.66 per cent marks.
Under Pune division in the state, the highest number of 67 students from children’s homes in Pune district has passed, followed by Mumbai with 30 students from here. Out of the students who passed, 2 students scored more than 90 per cent marks. There are 34 students who scored 80 to 90 per cent marks. There are 86 students with 70 to 80 per cent marks, 69 students with 60 to 70 per cent marks and 18 students with less than 60 per cent marks.
Of all these students; Minister Adv. Thakur, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development A. Kundan and Commissioner Rahul More congratulated him and testified that the government would provide all possible assistance for his further education as well as skill development from the point of view of rehabilitation.
