Visit of Central Government Environment Committee of Swargate Multi-Modal Hub of Pune Metro.

Swargate Multi-Modal Hub of Pune Metro was visited and inspected by the Environment Committee of the Central Government to get environmental recognition.

Chairman of the Environment Committee Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Member Shri. Mukund Pathak, Member Shri. Kiran Achrekar, Member Dr Asim Harvansh and Member Dr Dattatraya Thorat were present.

Swargate is a very important station in the Pimpri-Chinchwad to the Swargate route of Pune Metro. Swargate station has a large bus stand of Maharashtra Parivahan Mandal and PMPML. To connect the two stations, Metro plans to set up a multi-modal hub at Swargate to accommodate ST bus passengers, PMPML passengers, rickshaws, cars, radio taxis and more. A multi-modal hub has been planned for the integrated thinking of vehicles as well as for their smooth movement.
The approval of the Department of Environment is indispensable for a multi-modal hub and for commercial construction to be built there. Maha metro had applied to the Environment Committee of the Central Government for environmental recognition along with the appropriate documents.
Chairman of the Environment Committee Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Member Shri. Mukund Pathak, Member Shri. Kiran Achrekar, Member Dr Asim Harvansh and Member Dr Dattatraya Thorat supervised the work of Swargate Mahometro Hub.

Mr Atul Gadgil, Director, Mahametro gave a detailed presentation on the project. He also informed about the measures being taken by Mahametro for environmental conservation. Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Chairman of the Committee, gave important instructions to the officials of multi-modal. Other members of the executive also provided important guidance.
