‘Sanjivan Van Udyan’ will come to be known as Oxygen Park – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Bhumi Pujan at the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of ‘Sanjeevan Van Udyan’ project; A unique forest park will be set up on 35 acres of forest land in the Warje area.
The ‘Sanjeevan Forest Park’ to be jointly developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Forest Department will come to be known as the Oxygen Park, stated Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar today. He also suggested that while planting trees in the Pune metropolitan area, there are hills and places of the forest department.
The Sanjeevan Forest Park is being set up in a 35-acre area of the Forest Department near Dukkar Khindi in Warje by the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra. The ‘Bhumi Pujan’ of this project was held by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the transformation of ‘Sanjeevan Van Udyan’ into a beautiful park jointly devel
oped by Pune Municipal Corporation and Forest Department, the Government of Maharashtra would be a perfect example of biodiversity conservation. This biodiversity park will come to be known as Oxygen Park. Along with beautification, pollution control, a good oxygen park will be created for the citizens of Warje, Kothrud area. He also directed the forest department to plan and speed up tree planting on hills and open forest lands near the metropolis and also to give priority to native tree planting while planting trees.
Stating that the ‘Sanjeevan Van Udyan’ project will help in conserving the environment, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar said, ‘Sanjeevan Van Udyan will have a variety of trees. Citizens coming to this park will get good air. Everyone understands the importance of oxygen due to the corona. For this, we built many oxygen plants. But it is a natural plant and needs to be maintained. Otherwise, future generations will not forgive you. Therefore, public participation is very important for tree planting, he said.
In his introductory remarks, Leader of the Opposition Deepali Dhumal said that the ‘Sanjivan Van Udyan’ jointly developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Forest Department would be important for the people of Warje and the surrounding areas. Chief officials of various agencies, people’s representatives were present along with the citizens.
