3rd Tests match between India & England is to begin tomorrow at Headingley.
India is enjoying a fantastic ride in the Test series so far. The visitors were the favourites to win the first Test match in Nottingham. However, the last day was completely washed out due to rain and thus the match ended in a draw. India continued their spectacular form in the second match too as they registered a victory by 151 runs.
The third of the five Tests match between India and England will begin tomorrow at Headingley in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The visitors are ahead by 1-0 in the series and will be hoping to make it 2-0. Virat Kohli-led side showcased a fine display of teamwork as they beat the hosts by 151 runs at Lord’s in the second test. With the momentum on their side, India looks strong against England who would be itching to bounce back and level the series after losing the match in just the final two sessions of Day 5.
Pace bowler Saqib Mahmood is set to get his maiden Test cap after fellow pacer Mark Wood was ruled out of the third Test against India to be played here at Headingley from Wednesday, England captain Joe Root has hinted. Batsman Dawid Malan is also set to feature in the playing XI.
The right-arm pace bowler from Birmingham has played seven ODIs and nine T20 Internationals for England and had burst into the limelight with a four-wicket haul in an ODI against Pakistan in July.
Coming into the contest on Wednesday, the visitors will be looking forward to continuing their winning momentum. Englishmen, on the other hand, will be eager to produce a comprehensive performance in Leeds to level the five-match series by 1-1.
