Maharashtra Startup Week launches innovative concepts for youth across the country.

Work orders of various government work up to Rs. 15 lakhs each to the best 24 startups.
The Maharashtra Startup Week, organized by the Maharashtra State Innovation Society to promote startups based on innovative concepts of youth across the country, introduced innovative concepts in various fields such as cancer screening, long-lasting roads from plastic, modernization of fishponds, fuel-saving through air filters, poultry management. The top 24 startups were felicitated by Skill Development Minister Nawab Malik and Industry minister Subhash Desai at a function held at Hotel Trident today. Startups will be fully encouraged to drive innovation among the youth. Extensive efforts will be made to increase the partnership between startups and the state government, said the Minister. Desai said this time.
The winning 24 best startups will be given various government work orders of up to Rs 15 lakh each to implement their innovative products and services on an experimental basis in government departments. A total of 1,846 startups had registered for the week across the country, out of which selected 100 startups made presentations online in the week organized online from Monday in front of ministers, investors, experts, entrepreneurs, government officials. The best 24 startups were honoured today. Startups from agriculture, education, skills development, healthcare, sustainability (clean energy, water management, waste management), administration and other areas that can bring innovation and innovation in governance were presented.
Industry Minister Subhash Desai said that the youth who participated in the week presented various concepts related to the upliftment of farmers in rural areas of the country. Apart from this, new concepts were also introduced for the health sector which has become important in the wake of the Corona outbreak. Young people are also looking for new concepts for areas like fisheries development. Through this week, all these innovations have got an effective platform to reach out to investors as well as the government. Such an endeavour will give a big boost to startups. He said that measures would be taken on a large scale through the industry department as well.
Minister of State for Skill Development Shambhuraj Desai gave his best wishes through audio recording. This week has given a platform to rural youth, including those from urban areas. Young people are encouraged to work in various fields such as agriculture, health, water and waste management, non-conventional energy. In addition, they have the opportunity to present their products to entrepreneurs and the government. The initiative will encourage young people to become entrepreneurs, he said.

Manisha Verma, Principal Secretary of, Skill Development Department, said that Maharashtra has been ranked second in the country in the Innovation Index. An independent Women Entrepreneurship Cell has been set up in the Innovation Society to promote women entrepreneurship. Skills Development University, ITI is being modernized. Through such various initiatives, professionalism and entrepreneurship among the youth is being promoted, he said.
