In the state, 488 government schools will be developed as ideal schools.
The decision to develop 488 government schools in the state as model schools for enhancing the quality of education was taken in the state cabinet meeting held today. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Ideal schools will be created by developing the physical facilities in the schools as well as the educational quality. The development of physical facilities will include facilities like separate toilets, drinking water system, well-maintained classrooms, attractive building, playground, sports equipment, ICT lab, science lab, library. Attempts will be made to provide a conducive environment for students to learn in academic quality. Care will be taken to ensure that teachers teach students beyond textbooks. Supplementary reading books and reference books, encyclopedias will be available in the school library. Along with self-study, constructive educational programs like group study will also be implemented under this.
Particular attention will be paid to the development of 21st-century skills in the students of Adarsh School.
A fund of Rs 494 crore will be made available for the development of 488 “Adarsh Schools” approved today.
