Scholarships should be distributed to students immediately – orders of Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant

A review was conducted in the context of students’ pending scholarships. Higher and Technical Education Department  Govt of Maharashtra

Scholarships, tuition fees are given to students from various departments in the state but students face technical difficulties in getting scholarships. Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant directed that the scholarships should be distributed to the students immediately.

A review meeting was held at the Ministry regarding the pending scholarships of the students. Mr Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education,  Abha Shukla, Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Mr Dhanraj Mane, Director, Department of Higher Education, Dr Abhay Wagh, Director, Department of Technical Education, Mr Prasad Kolthe, Managing Director, Department of Information Technology, Tribal Development Department, Relevant officers of Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Bahujan Welfare Department were present.

The Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Mr Samant said that besides providing good education to the students, all the facilities should also be made available to them in time. Many students have received complaints of technical difficulties in getting scholarships. Students and institutions are facing difficulties as they have not received scholarships. For this, the concerned department has immediately removed these problems through coordination and the scholarship which has been pending for the last 2 years. It should be delivered immediately. Also, the Department of Information Technology and the concerned department should hold a meeting this week to review all the scholarships and to distribute the scholarships to the students. This should be reviewed every month. Samantha did it this time.

Colleges should not refuse to provide student documents. Students should not be harmed academically. For this, the college should co-operate with the students. If the complaints of the students are received, action will be taken against the concerned college, said Mr Samant.
