The government is focusing on vaccination in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and other districts. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today directed that along with equipping the health system, vigilance rules should be strictly followed. He also clarified that new restrictions will not be imposed as Ganeshotsav will be celebrated in a simple manner, but if there is a crowd of citizens, a tough decision will be taken on the second day after anticipating the first day.

A review meeting on Corona situation and measures in the district was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the hall of the Pune Divisional Commissioner’s Office.

Expressing satisfaction over Kovid vaccination in Pune district, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the government is emphasizing speedy vaccination against corona. It is commendable that Krantidevi Bajaj Trust has donated Rs 1.5 lakh out of social responsibility. The contribution of NGOs in such work will be significant. It is planned to complete the vaccination of all teachers and staff by the time the decision to start school is made. There has been a great success in vaccinating teachers and staff. He also directed the system to increase the rate of vaccination in private institutions as well.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “We have been trying our best for the last one and a half years to overcome Corona completely.” The increasing number of patients in rural areas of the Pune district is a matter of concern. A third wave could occur if care is not taken in rural areas, including the metropolis. The health system has been equipped keeping in view this possibility. However, adherence to the rules is essential to prevent a third wave. He also appealed to the citizens to strictly adhere to masks, cleanliness and safe distance.

Neelam Gorhe, the deputy speaker of the Legislative Council, said there was a need to take care of young children in view of the potential third wave of the corona. He also directed to put up billboards in the visible areas regarding the availability of hospital beds as well as details about the health plan and contact numbers.

MP Girish Bapat said that treatment facilities should be provided in the rural areas so that the patients in the rural areas can get proper treatment on the spot.
