Awarded National Teacher Award to two teachers from Maharashtra.
Khurshid Sheikh, a teacher from Gadchiroli district and Umesh Raghunath Khose, a teacher from Osmanabad district were today honoured by President Ramnath Kovind with the National Teacher Award through virtual award ceremony for their outstanding contribution. 
On the occasion of National Teachers’ Day, the Union Ministry of Education distributed the ‘National Teacher Award-2021’ through the virtual award ceremony on the backdrop of the Covid-19 epidemic. The event was attended by the President from Rashtrapati Bhavan and Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Education Anupama Devi, Dr Subhas Sarkar and Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh from the Ministry of Education at Shastri Bhavan.
The 44 teachers who participated in the program from different parts of the country were honoured in various categories for their outstanding contributions. Khurshid Sheikh, a teacher of Zilla Parishad Upper Primary School at Asarali in Sironcha taluka of Gadchiroli district and Umesh Raghunath Khose, a teacher of Zilla Parishad Primary School at Kaddora (Jagdambanagar) in Umarga taluka of Osmanabad district were also honoured.
Khurshid Sheikh, the headmaster and enterprising teacher of Zilla Parishad School at Asarali in Gadchiroli district has made a different impression in the field of education. Mr Sheikh is constantly striving to bring the tribal children of the area into the mainstream. Mr Sheikh successfully implemented the ‘Me too Reporter’ initiative to overcome the difficulties faced by the students for language study. He has made significant changes in his school by adopting new initiatives in education. Necessary facilities have been provided in the school for imparting comprehensive education to the students. He has brought about the active participation of teachers and students through various educational activities.
Umesh Khose, a teacher at Zilla Parishad Primary School in Kaddora in Osmanabad district, provided education to children in rural areas with the help of modern technology. Mr Khose succeeded in bringing 100% of students from the area to the school. Created digital classrooms to provide students with the best tools of learning. Tanda has created 51 independent offline apps for children to learn offline. Provided self-study opportunities to the students by producing videos. The first book has been translated and its digital literature has been created so that the children of Tandya can get education in their own language.
