Immerse Bappa at home: Mayor Mohol.
– Appeal of Mayor Muralidhar Mohol
– 200 MT of Ammonium Bicarbonate for idol immersion at home
– Idol collection can also be done at 247 idol collection centres
A total of 200 MT of Ammonium Bicarbonate has been made available free of cost by the Pune Municipal Corporation to all the Regional Offices for immersion of Shri Ganesh Idol at home. Even though it is being distributed, considering the background of corona infection, Bappa should be immersed at home, ‘appealed Mayor Muralidhar Mohol.
Mayor Mohol has made this appeal while giving information about the preparations made by the Municipal Corporation for the immersion of Ganesh. An average of 12-13 tons of ammonium bicarbonate has been distributed to the citizens in each field office.
Mayor Mohol said, ‘For this year’s Ganesh Immersion, idol collection centres have been set up at 247 places under 15 field offices. Also, for the citizens who cannot immerse idols at home, more than one and a half hundred idol immersion chariots have been provided by the Municipal Corporation and the people’s representatives.
Last year, during Ganeshotsav, a total of 87 thousand 442 kg of Nirmalya was collected through Pune Municipal Corporation Clean Cooperative Society. This year also Nirmalya collection has been arranged at all Ganesh idol collection centres. Nirmalya manure is produced and this manure is further used for municipal parks and given to the farmers free of cost. The eco-friendly incense is made from the flower buds courtesy of Cummins India Company, ‘said Mayor Mohol.
Last year, 82 thousand 551 idols were immersed in mobile tanks and 79 thousand 777 idols were collected at the collection centre. A total of 1 lakh 62 thousand 328 Ganesha immersions were done. Even this year, citizens should keep a separate collection of Nirmalya. All this Nirmalya comes through the garbage pickers coming to your door or through the bell cart in addition to the wet and dry garbage in different bags. It will be held on September 12, 15 and 20, 2021. Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has appealed that no one should throw the Nirmalya river basin in the lake.
Mayor Mohol further said, ‘Nirmalya should include only garlands, leaves and flowers. It should not contain plastic, thermocol, textiles or images, idols or their remains as well as any food. This Prasadik Nirmalya is collected and made into fertilizer and given to the farmers, therefore, it is requested not to throw any object or other waste in the Nirmalya which would violate the sanctity of this Prasadik Nirmalya.
