ed unemployment, 17,372 unemployed candidates have been employed in various companies, corporates and industries in the state through various initiatives being implemented by the Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department in August 2021, said Nawab Malik. Through various initiatives like Mahaswayam Web Portal, Online Employment Fair etc., employment is provided in the state by linking job seekers and various companies, corporate organizations, industries.
Through such various initiatives, last year in 2020, 1 lakh 99 thousand 486 candidates were provided employment in the state, while in the current year, from January to August, 1 lakh 11 thousand 083 unemployed have been provided employment, said Shri. Malik said.
Minister Shri. Malik said the Department of Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship has launched a web portal https://rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in to bridge the gap between unemployed candidates and entrepreneurs. Unemployed candidates register on this web portal with information about their education, skills, experience etc. Also, companies, entrepreneurs, corporates who are looking for skilled candidates can also find the skilled candidates they want by registering on this web portal. Job seekers are required to register on this web portal. The department also organizes online employment fairs in the districts from time to time.
Job opportunities in registered industries
So far, 91,091 public and private entrepreneurs have registered with the department on the Mahasvayam web portal. Many of these entrepreneurs fill the vacancies as per their requirements from time to time through initiatives like the Mahasvayam web portal and online meet of the skill development department. Therefore, a good platform has been made available to the job-seeking candidates to get jobs through the activities of the Skill Development Department, said Shri. Malik said.
Employment to 6,190 unemployed in Mumbai in August
Minister Shri. Malik said that in the month of August 2021, 39 thousand 574 job-seeking candidates have registered or re-registered with the department. 9 thousand 216 unemployed candidates registered in Mumbai division, 6 thousand 180 in Nashik division, 10 thousand 980 in Pune division, 8 thousand 109 in Aurangabad division, 2 thousand 740 in Amravati division and 2 thousand 349 in Nagpur division.
In the month of August, 17 thousand 372 candidates started getting jobs through various initiatives of the Skill Development Department. The highest number of unemployed candidates were in the Mumbai division (6,190), Nashik division (2,168), Pune division (4,629), Aurangabad division (3,738), Amravati division (449) and Nagpur division (198).
