‘Pune on Pedals Cycle Rally’ on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Bicycle rallies are not for one day but for non-stop. Such initiatives help in inspiring and guiding the new generation along with environmental protection. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari stated that the cycle rally is a symbol of adventure.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a ‘Pune on Pedals Cycle Rally’ was organized between the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Kothrud and the statue of Rani of Jhansi at Balgandharva Rang Mandir. The bicycle rally was flagged off by Mr Koshyari. Vice President of National Commission for Women Professor Medha Kulkarni, Corporator Jayant Bhave and cyclists were present on the occasion.
Congratulating the organization of the cycle rally, Governor Shri Koshyari said that after the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate Yoga Day, people from home and abroad responded and celebrated Yoga Day. The use of bicycles in daily life is beneficial for living a healthy life and contributes to the protection of the environment.
Triathlete Kaustubh Radkar, cyclist Sunita Nadgir, Ekadashi Kolhatkar, Nirupama Bhave, Jugal Rathi, triathlete and trekker Nilesh Misal, yoga instructor Aarti Chavan, ironman Megh Thakar and organizers were felicitated by Governor Koshyari.
In the introduction, Prof. Kulkarni said, Pune is known as the city of bicycles. The city has a large number of bicycle lovers. He said that this cycle rally was organized with the inspiration that Pune city should be environment friendly, sustainable development of the city, women should be safe.
At the beginning of the program, Governor Shri Koshyari greeted the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by laying a wreath.
