Third-party assessment agencies and MMRDA officials will jointly investigate the bridge accident.

Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that a third-party assessment body and MMRDA officials will jointly investigate the collapse of the girder of the bridge connecting Bandra Kurla Complex to JVLR. He also clarified that the cost of treatment of the injured workers in the incident would be borne through MMRDA.
At around 4 am today, 14 workers were injured when the girder of a bridge under construction connecting Bandra Kurla Complex and JVLR suddenly collapsed. Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde visited the spot and inspected it.
“This is an unfortunate accident and whoever is responsible for the accident will be dealt with severely,” he said. Although the accident appeared to be due to a fault between the girder’s bearing and the nut bolt, he clarified that the culprits would be prosecuted only after a thorough investigation. Also, in order to prevent such accidents from happening again, Shri. Shinde handed over to the MMRDA Commissioner.
Visited the injured worker at the hospital
Thirteen workers with minor injuries in the accident were treated and discharged from the hospital. So only one worker is undergoing treatment under the supervision of a doctor. Minister Shinde visited VN Desai Hospital and questioned the workers. He also instructed the doctor to treat him properly. At this time MMRDA Commissioner V. Srinivas Rao, local police officer, MMRDA officials, staff were present.
