Permission to start Chipi Airport Service – Information from Guardian Minister Uday Samant.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given permission to start Chipi Airport in Sindhudurg district, said Uday Samant, Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg district at a press conference held at the Ministry.
Guardian Minister Shri Samant said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had promised the people of Konkan to start Chipi Airport two years ago while he was on a visit to Konkan. Even in the Corona period, the promise given by Chief Minister Mr Thackeray has been fulfilled by accelerating the development work. This government has fulfilled the dream of the people of Sindhudurg for many years. The inauguration ceremony of Chipi Airport will be held on October 9, 2021, in the presence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Samantha said this time.
The state government has allocated Rs 966 crore for setting up a government medical college in Sindhudurg district and a well-equipped 500-bed hospital with a capacity of 100 students will be set up. For this 20 acres of land of the district general hospital has been given to the medical education department. The National Medical Commission (NMC) New Delhi has this year approved for admission to the first year MBBS course of a medical college. This college will definitely give a boost to the development of the Sindhudurg district, said Mr Samant in a press conference.
