Caste validity certificate should be obtained in time for local body elections – State Election Commissioner.
Candidates who want to contest the reserved seats in the local body elections in 2022 must get the caste certificate along with the Caste Validity Certificate on time to avoid the rush. State Election Commissioner UPS Madan has appealed to the concerned to fulfil this at the individual level from now on.
Mr Madan said that a large number of elections will be held in the coming years for various local bodies like Municipal Corporations, Nagar Parishads / Nagar Panchayats, Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayats across the state. According to the various laws of the concerned local bodies, candidates wishing to contest in reserved seats are required to submit caste certificates and caste validity certificates along with nomination papers. For this, the aspiring candidates should first get the caste certificate. Then apply to the Caste Verification Committee along with the required documents for the Caste Validity Certificate. It is necessary to prepare for that from now on. So that no one will rush to submit nomination papers and no aspiring candidate will be deprived of contesting the election due to lack of caste validity certificate.
