Quality should be tested along with academic audit – Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant appealed to the universities, colleges and educational institutes to work for the betterment of the students by raising the standard of education by conducting quality audits along with academic audits.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant presided over the presentation of the educational audit portal through video conferencing. The meeting was attended by Vikas Chandra Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Dhanraj Mane, Director, Department of Higher Education, Dr Abhay Wagh, Director, Technical Education, Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Coordinator of all non-agricultural universities.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Shri. Samant said that students should get better educational facilities, quality education. Funds for educational facilities should also be spent on providing quality educational facilities. The university should take initiative to make the educational facilities more available in the rural areas and to cooperate with the government in providing modern educational facilities in the rural areas, problems of colleges in the rural areas and starting new colleges.
This portal will help bring uniformity to all the universities in the state. This portal has been created for conducting academic audits of colleges, ecosystems and their courses, disciplines, subjects, units etc. affiliated to the university. Even so, Shri. Samantha said this time.
The Integrated University Management System (IUMS) has also been developed by the Department of Information Technology to ensure uniformity in all agriculture, other universities and affiliated colleges/institutions in the state. Everyone should participate in it too.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr Samant said that a committee has been constituted for the implementation of the new education policy and this committee has suggested work in three phases. The crisis of Kovid has created financial difficulties for the state. However, in order to avoid any educational loss to the students, there is no need for additional financial assistance as suggested by the committee and it is possible to do it immediately. Mr Samant also informed that a plan is being prepared for the implementation of the education policy by planning to complete the remaining works in the third phase.
The principal recruitment process has been approved in principle by the Finance Department. Work is underway at the government level regarding recruitment of professors, increase in honorarium of professors working on a tasika basis, the problem of teachers and non-teaching staff. Therefore, educational institutions should work on how to provide quality education to the students. Samantha said this time.
Reviewing the current status of Kovid in the district to see if all the universities can start colleges with direct attendance from this academic year. A detailed report should be submitted to the government next week, said Mr Samant.
