CM approves the construction of all well-equipped cities around Shirdi Airport.
A decision in the meeting of the Board of Directors of Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray suggested that Shirdi should be selected to develop a city with all facilities by developing the area around the airport and also to set up one of the best development centres in Maharashtra. He was speaking at a meeting of the board of directors of Maharashtra Airport Development Company today. This was the 76th meeting held in the committee room at Varsha. Area Around Shirdi Hub Airport will be known as ‘Asha’. Maharashtra Airport Development Company will carry out innovative and well-planned development of this area.
Shirdi in Ahmednagar district is a famous religious tourist destination in the country. Millions of tourists from all over the world visit here every year. The development of Shirdi Airport and its environs will attract investment in various projects and make it one of the best development hubs in the state. The Chief Minister pointed out that the tourism business would be further enhanced as employment would be created and infrastructure would be created in the airport area.
The airport should be developed keeping in view the utility
The Chief Minister also directed that the airport should be developed not only in the name of development but also in areas where industrial development can take place, tourism can be boosted and employment opportunities can be created.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the various companies allotted space in Nagpur Mihan and directed them to continue production there properly.
The meeting reviewed the development work of various airports in the state as well as the services and facilities there and the progress of the airport development company during the last year.
