Mumbai: We are proud that Maharashtra is doing well in the field of higher technical education in the country. Technology is just a medium. However, balanced development is important in all areas of the state while developing, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was speaking at the 50th Annual Convention of Indian Society For Technical Education, New Delhi at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan.

On this occasion, various dignitaries who have done well in the field of science and higher technical education were felicitated by the Chief Minister. Senior scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2021. The award was presented to him at his residence by Pratap Singh Desai, President of, Indian Society For Technical Education, New Delhi. Senior scientist Dr Raghunath Mashelkar expressed his gratitude for this award through video. Dr Sanjay Patil, Vice-Chancellor, Dr DY Patil University, Kolhapur and Talsande Akurdi, Pune; Dr Devi Prasad Sharma, Member, AICTE, New Delhi; Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Director, NTTR, Kolkata; Dr Omkar Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Dr Farooq Qazi, a scientist at VJTR, Mysore, were honoured with a memento. On this occasion, the best Vice-Chancellors of the country, as well as the principals of engineering colleges, were felicitated by the dignitaries.

State University of Music and Arts: – Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant

Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said, “I am fortunate to have been able to meet many experts through today’s event.” Maharashtra is also taking very important steps in the field of higher and technical education as many new institutes have been set up in the field of technical education. The JJ School of Art will become a state of the art state in the coming months. It is also a matter of great pride for the state that a government music college is being set up in the state. Also, the first part of the new education policy to be implemented in the state will be presented to the next cabinet, said Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant.

The state will implement an ideal new education policy in the country: Minister of State for Home Affairs (Cities) Satej Patil

Minister of State for Home (Cities) Satej Patil said that the Indian Society For Technical Education, New Delhi is working to improve the quality of education in the country. Especially Pratap Desai, the president of the organization, is doing a very good job in maintaining the quality of education. He has been instrumental in taking the education sector forward in proper coordination with the government. Efforts are also underway to implement a new education policy in the state. Maharashtra will implement this new educational policy as an ideal in the country, testified Minister of State Satej Patil.

The program was introductory by Pratap Singh Desai, President, Indian Society For Technical Education, New Delhi. Prof. Mahesh Kakade compered the program and Mr Katke thanked the audience.
