Appeal to farmers to participate in restructured climate-based fruit crop insurance scheme.
Pune: Under the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, a restructured climate-based fruit crop insurance scheme has been implemented for fruit growers in ‘Ambia Bhar’ for the year 2021. District Superintendent of Agriculture Dnyaneshwar Bote has appealed to the farmers to take advantage of this scheme which has been implemented to protect the crops in case of damage due to natural calamities and adverse weather conditions.
The Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme is for notified fruit growers in the notified area. Borrowers, as well as non-borrower farmers, are optional for the notified crops in the notified area. Only productive orchards will be covered by insurance coverage. Compensation in this scheme will be decided according to the data of the automated weather station at the revenue board level under the Mahavedh project, so there will be no human interference.
The following is the information regarding crop-wise participation deadline, sum assured and insurance premium to be paid by the farmers.
In Daund, Ambegaon, Bhor, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Haveli, Shirur, Velha, Mulshi, Baramati, Indapur, Saswad talukas, the last date for mango crop is 30 November 2021 and the sum insured is 1 lakh 40 thousand. Farmers have to pay an insurance premium of Rs 15,400.
In Daund, Ambegaon, Baramati, Junnar, Indapur, Saswad, Shirur, Haveli, Khed talukas, the deadline for the pomegranate crop is 14 January 2022 and the sum assured is Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand. Farmers have to pay an insurance premium of Rs 9,750.
The last date for the grape crop in Daund Ambegaon, Baramati, Junnar, Indapur taluka is 15th October 2021 and the sum assured is Rs. 3 lakh 20 thousand. The farmers have to pay an insurance premium of Rs 16,000.
In Daund, Ambegaon, Baramati, Junnar, Indapur, Khed, Haveli, Shirur talukas, the last date for the banana crop is 31st October 2021 and the sum assured is Rs. 1 lakh 40 thousand. Farmers have to pay an insurance premium of Rs 7,000.
The last date for the citrus crop in Indapur taluka is 31st October 2021 and the sum assured is Rs. 80,000. The premium to be paid by the farmers is Rs. 4,000.
The last date for the orange crop in Shirur taluka is 30th November 2021 and the sum assured is Rs. 80,000. The premium to be paid by the farmers is Rs. 4,000.
In Ambegaon, Junnar, Indapur talukas, the deadline for the papaya crop is 31st November 2021 and the sum assured is Rs. 35,000. The premium to be paid by the farmers is Rs. 1,750.
