Aim for more than 15 lakh vaccinations every day – Information from Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope
Mumbai: Mission Kavach Kundal Abhiyan will be implemented from 8th October to 14th October to further accelerate Covid-19 vaccination in the state. Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the campaign aims to vaccinate more than 15 lakh people daily in the state.
Public Health Minister Mr Tope gave detailed information about this campaign. He had detailed discussions with the District Collector, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, District Surgeon, District Health Officer, Taluka Officer through video conferencing last night. Instructed on the implementation of the campaign.
Giving information about the mission, Mr Tope said that this Mission Kavach Kundal Abhiyan will be implemented in the state from 8th to 14th October. The central government has set a target of vaccinating 100 crore people across the country by October 15. The Central Government has said that a substantial contribution should be made from Maharashtra. A campaign has been planned for this. The campaign will focus on vaccinating people in rural and semi-urban areas.
In order to make the implementation of the campaign effective, various departments like Revenue, Rural Development, Women and Child Development, Education, Urban Development will be involved. There are enough vaccines available for the campaign. At present, the state has 75 lakh vaccines available. Another 25 lakh vaccines will be available. Accessories like syringes are being provided.
The aim is to vaccinate a quarter of crore citizens in the state. Out of this, six crore people have been vaccinated and more than three and a half crore people are yet to be vaccinated. The aim is to vaccinate as many citizens as possible during the campaign period. At present, the proportion of citizens taking the first dose is 65% and the proportion of citizens taking the second dose is about 1%. Various sections of society will be involved in this campaign to speed up vaccination. It will be attended by Indian Medical Association, private doctors, Rotary clubs, Lions clubs, NGOs, said, Mr Tope.
It has been decided to provide Rs 50,000 assistance to the relatives of every citizen of the state who died due to Kovid. About 140,000 civilians have died due to corona. About Rs, 700 crores will be provided from SDRF for this. For this, the Collector and District Surgeon have to fill in the information on the portal. The aid money will then be deposited in the accounts of the relatives of the deceased patients. This was explained by Mr Tope.
