Mumbai: The Home Department has adopted a strict policy to curb the growing drug trade in the state and directed Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil to set up anti-drug cells at the district level under the chairmanship of the Superintendent of Police in each district to take action against drugs.

Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil reviewed the anti-narcotics action in the state and especially in Mumbai in a meeting held at the Ministry. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Manukumar Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary, Appeals and Security, Anand Limaye, Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagarale, Additional Director General of Police Law and Order Rajendra Singh, Vineet Agarwal, Joint Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil, Milind Bharamba was present.
