Baramati: The poor and needy patients should benefit from the CT scan facility at Government Medical College and General Hospital Baramati and better health care should be provided to the patients, stated Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the CT scan machine at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore through Doctor for You and the social responsibility fund of industry organizations.
The event was graced by Mayor Pournima Taware, President of ‘Doctors for You’ Dr Rajat Jain, Secretary Saket Jha, Boeing India’s Praveena Bhat, Hemant Agrahari of India Lead Health and Wellness Walmart Global Sourcing, Flipkart Director Dippy Wankanj, Standard Chartered Bank Co-Director Sandeep Khade, Mentors Foundation’s Dr Santosh Bhosale, COO Caterpillar, C.K. Tanmay Mujumdar of Birla Group, Rajiv Kaushik of Wipro & GE Health Care were present.
Mr Pawar said that CT scan machines should be provided to the very poor and needy people at a low cost. Many organizations are helping through CSR. The facilities created by them should be used properly. Baramati is looking to become an education hub as well as a medical hub. All amenities are becoming available here. It is expected to benefit the general public. Attempts should be made to serve patients promptly. Good service should be provided to all patients. Specialists should be appointed for CT scan machines. The concerned should take action to start OPD in the medical college. There should be at least one medical college in every district and the government is making efforts for this.
Speaking about the corona, he said, the doctor did a very good job during the corona period by accepting the fat of human service. The medical staff also performed well. Emphasis should be placed on vaccination to control corona. Everyone should try to stay corona free. Citizens should wear masks, although the number of corona infections is currently declining. He also appealed to all to abide by the Corona rules.
Before the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar inspected the ICU unit, Pediatric Room. He also inaugurated 20 oxygen concentrators and 20 ventilators jointly provided by Doctors for You and inaugurated a new state-of-the-art gymnasium built by the government college for the students. It was done by Pawar.
In-charge Yashwant Kulkarni, Administrative Officer Nandkumar Kokare, Medical Superintendent Dr Amol Shide, Professor Dr Rajesh Umap, Head of the Department Dr Uday Rajput, Dr Rahul Mastood, Assistant Professor Dr Saurabh Mutha and concerned officers were present.
