Sales licenses of two fertilizer dealers were suspended, Action of District Superintendent Agriculture Officer.
Pune: The sales licenses of two fertilizer sellers have been suspended due to a mismatch between the POS machine and the actual stock in the warehouse.
Licensing Authority and District Superintendent of Agriculture Dnyaneshwar Bote has suspended the concerned fertilizer sales centre after finding discrepancies between the stock of urea fertilizer on POS machine and the actual stock in the warehouse during the inspection of the fertilizer sales license of two fertilizer sellers through the Agriculture Officer at Junnar.
The Central Government has made it mandatory to use POS machines for the sale of subsidized fertilizer under the DBT scheme. If urea as well as other subsidized fertilizers are not sold through POS machines, they appear to be in balance on the machines and this reduces the allocation of fertilizers from the Central Government in the next season. For this, there are difficulties in getting the required urea as well as other subsidized fertilizers in the season. Subordinate quality control inspectors have been notified in this regard. Also, in the form of a campaign, subsidized fertilizer vendors will be inspected and those vendors who do not match the stock on the machine and the stock in the actual warehouse will be suspended on their sales license.
All vendors should put up billboards for farmers to bring Aadhar cards with them while purchasing subsidized fertilizer in front of the sales centre. Dnyaneshwar Bote, District Superintendent of Agriculture, has appealed to all vendors to take note that under no circumstances should the sale of subsidized fertilizers take place without POS.
