The action was taken by Pune Forest Department on illegal sawmill in the Bhamburda forest reserve
Pune: The Pune Forest Department today raided an illegal sawmill in the Bhamburda forest reserve area and confiscated a sawmill, 2 cutters and sealed the godown where illegal stocks of timber were found for sawmills.
The action was taken after the Forest Department came to know that an illegal sawmill was operating at Ravet (Pimpri Chinchwad). The action taken included Samarth Packaging at Ravet, owned by Pritam Gautamchand Kankaria.
Under the guidance of Pune Forest Deputy Forest Conservator Rahul Patil (VVS), Assistant Forest Conservator Mayur Bothe, Bhamburda Forest Range Officer Pradeep Sankapal, Mobile Forest Range Officer Sachin Raghatwan, Forest Ranger Vaibhav Babar, Mahesh Mergewad, Forest Ranger Suresh Barle, Dnyaneshwar Jivade And other forest workers from the Bhamburda Forest Reserve participated in the raid. Further investigation is underway in this case by registering a forest offence under the Indian Forest Act 1927, the information has been given by the Deputy Forest Conservator’s Office.
