Theatres in the state will open from October 22 – Information from Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh.

Mumbai: Against the backdrop of Kovid-19, theatres in the state are being approved to start in a controlled manner from October 22, subject to guidelines, informed Cultural Affairs Minister Amit Deshmukh.
The Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has issued guidelines in this regard and the ruling has been issued on 11 October 2021. The theatres will be regulated in accordance with the prevailing guidelines of the Revenue and Forest Department, Disaster Management Department, Relief and Rehabilitation Department as well as Public Health Department.
The grounds of the theatre/theatre (including scenes) should be marked on the ground at appropriate places by the entrance in accordance with the standards of safe distance. Designated persons will be allowed to handle curtains, behind-the-scenes objects, etc. Playwrights and staff should have their own medical checkups regularly. It will be necessary to spray smoke every day on all the scenes and rooms for the artists. Schedule regular cleaning of scenes, toilets and dressing rooms to ensure timely cleaning of toilets. It is mandatory to wear face masks and face shields, and the theatre staff should be provided with sterile liquid to clean their hands. No guests, no matter who they are, will be allowed to enter the artist’s rooms. Care should be taken to ensure that the devices (music system/laptop/mic/lighting scheme, etc.) are handled by anyone. It is mandatory for all theatre management to take measures for regular cleaning/disinfection/fumigation of theatres, etc.
