Organizing special camps for voter registration of deprived sections.
Mumbai: In order to strengthen democracy, transgenders, prostitutes and women with disabilities must be included in the voter list. A special brief revision program for this is being conducted from 1st to 30th November 2021. During this period. Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Deshpande instructed all the District Electoral Officers in the state to register voters for these deprived sections by organizing special camps between November 13 and 14 and November 27 and 28, 2021. 
Among the activities implemented under the sweep were online meetings with the Deputy District Electoral Officers of the state, Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society, Mumbai District AIDS Control Society, various social organizations in the state, charities, organizations working for third parties. At that time Mr Deshpande gave these instructions. The meeting was attended by Dilip Shinde, Sweep Advisor, Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Transgenders, prostitutes, cripples as well as ordinary citizens. A special brief revision program is being implemented from 1 to 30 November 2021. At this time, the names of persons who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2022, will be included in the voter list. Special care should be taken to ensure that no constituents face any documentation problems while registering. Mr Deshpande suggested that the Deputy District Electoral Officer at the district level and the Prantadhikari and Tehsildar at the taluka level should register the voters of the citizens who have completed 18 years of age and will be doing so with proper coordination.
If any errors are found in the documents, the initiative should be taken to register as many as possible with a positive attitude. Marking of the disabled should be done in the electoral roll so that the disabled can be helped to come to the polling station. Citizens who are outside India cannot be included in the list. But if their children were born in India, then their names should be included in the voter list, said Mr Deshpande.
