Chetan Tupe resigned as, NCP Pune City President.
Request to the party to remove him from the post of ‘ Pune City President ‘ for the responsibility of my constituency.
NCP’s Pune city president and Hadapsar assembly constituency MLA Chetan Tupe resigned from the post on Friday. Tupe has asked state president Jayant Patil to remove him from the post as time is running out. Tupe has been the NCP’s city president for the last two and a half years. Movements to change the NCP’s city president had started since last year. For this, the names of aspirants were also invited from the parties. However, no decision has been taken by the party since then. So they had the responsibility. However, as the municipal elections are approaching, Tupe’s resignation will accelerate the political movement in the party. A few months before 2017, MLA Tupe was given the responsibility of city president by the NCP. He was later nominated for the Hadapsar Assembly constituency, which he won, and a few months later, he requested the party to remove him from the post of city president as the constituency needed more time and a large ward for corporators. According to the ‘One Person One Position’ role, the NCP had demanded that another person be given the post of city president, but the party retained him. He was elected from the Hadapsar Assembly constituency in the 2019 Assembly elections while he was the city president. From August 2018, the party had handed over the responsibility of the Pune city president to him. Since Tupe became an MLA, there has been talking of a new face for the post of NCP city president. I am satisfied with the opportunity given by the party. My Assembly constituency as well as the Municipal Corporation has expanded, giving more and more time to the voters in times of crisis. Therefore, I have requested the state president of the Nationalist Congress Party to release him. He also said that maximum time will be given to the citizens in the corona crisis as well as to help them. Meanwhile, the Hadapsar Assembly constituency has become the hotspot of Corona at the end of the first wave of Corona and in the second wave. He said he resigned as the constituency needed more attention
