Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s directive to start a weekly market in the district.
Pune District Covid Management Review Meeting.
Pune: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office reviewed the situation in the district. He directed to start weekly market and make gardens available for Diwali dawn event by following the Corona guidelines as the Covid situation in the district is under control.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, MP Shrirang Barne, Dr Amol Kolhe, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Zilla Parishad President Nirmala Pansare, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao.
The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated all the people’s representatives, all the officers in the district administration, Zilla Parishad as well as NMC office bearers and officials, health workers, NGOs, Siram Institute for the good performance of the district in vaccination. He said that due to the joint efforts of all, the district has reached the stage of 1 crore 17 lakh vaccinations. The pace of vaccination should be maintained to vaccinate citizens who have not yet received the first dose and are eligible to receive the second dose. Citizens should be vaccinated through special camps in areas where vaccination is low. He said that on the backdrop of Diwali, special attention should be paid to the areas with a high incidence of infection in Pune city. Mr Pawar also said that the blood donation camp initiative taken by the district administration has been well received.
Dr Gorhe said citizens from nearby villages come for the weekly market. Some of them may not have been vaccinated because they did not know it. Special camps should be organized in the market area for their vaccination. Citizens should be informed about the organization of such camps. Arrangements should be made to inform the patients about the reduced payment after auditing the payment for covid treatment.
In the meeting, Mr Rao informed about the situation of Covid in the district through a presentation. An experimental test of covacin vaccine has been started at Bharati University and Medical College, Pune for children in the age group of 7 to 11 years. In the last 3 weeks, 0 deaths have been reported in the Pune Municipal Corporation area and on 15th October in Pune rural area. On an experimental basis, weekend covid vaccination has been started at 10 places in rural areas of the district and covid vaccination planning for college students has been started under the ‘Mission Youth Health’ campaign. He informed that 4 lakh 27 thousand vaccinations were carried out between October 8 and 20 under ‘Mission Kavach Kundal’.
