The current fare for autorickshaws remains the same.
Pune: The decision to increase the fares of three-seater autorickshaws within the limits of the Pune Regional Transport Authority has been put on hold till the next meeting and the existing rates for autorickshaws will remain the same.
At a joint meeting of the Pune Regional Transport Authority, it was decided to impose a fare of Rs 20 for the first 1.5 km and Rs 13 for each subsequent km from November 8. The decision was taken by the authority on the recommendations of the Khatua Committee. However, the matter of fare hike has been put on hold till the next meeting of the authority as the rickshaw associations have submitted statements regarding reconsideration of the fare hike. Until then, the existing rates of Rs 18 for the first 1.5 km and Rs 12.19 for each subsequent km will remain the same, said Dr Ajit Shinde, Member Secretary of the Authority and Regional Transport Officer, Pune.
