Governor applauds traffic security forces and civil defence officers.
Mumbai: The number of road accident victims in India is very high. Therefore, there is a need to create awareness in society and especially among the students about road accidents. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari said that the traffic security forces and civil defence agencies are doing a valuable job in this regard and if they involve more people in this work, the number of road accidents in the country will definitely decrease.
He was speaking at the Raj Bhavan where he was felicitated at the hands of the Governor for his outstanding services rendered by the Honorary Teachers and Officers of the Traffic Security Force and Civil Defense Services in various districts of the state during the Corona period. The event was organized by the Road Safety Patrol and the Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Foundation.
The event was attended by Arvind Deshmukh, State Director General of Traffic Security Force, Director General of Thane and Manilal Shimpi, Ambassador of Mahatma Gandhi Global Peace Foundation, Kishore Patil, Editor of Dainik Swarajya Toran and social activists, entrepreneurs, traffic security forces and civil protection officers from various districts.
During the Corona period, people from various fields, including the Traffic Security Force, the Civil Defense Force, contributed immensely to the community. “It is commendable that the officers of the traffic security forces are working without any pay. We will definitely try to solve the problems of the organization,” he said.
Director-General Arvind Deshmukh said that the task of inculcating in the minds of the students that traffic safety is the responsibility of the people is being done by the traffic security forces and many teachers are doing this work without any remuneration. Deshmukh said the people of Traffic Safety and Civil Defense Force did a good job during the Sangli, Ratnagiri floods.
At the hands of the Governor, Arvind Deshmukh, Manilal Shimpi, Kishore Baliram Patil, Dnyaneshwar Barku Mhatre, Yashwant Mahadu Sore, Entrepreneur, Machhindranath Valmik Kadam, Secondary Education Officer Zilla Parishad, Nandurbar, Ramchandra Shantaram Desale, Social Worker, Adv. K.D. Patil, Divisional Commander RSP, Balasaheb Bansi Netke, Chief Fire Officer, Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, Shridhar Jaywant Patil as well as ‘Khana Chahiye’, Group Mumbai, ‘Jesus Is Life Foundation’, Ulhasnagar, ‘Roti Day’ Group, Kalyan And ‘Kutch Yuvak Sangh’, Kalyan and others were honoured.
