Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray testified that the Maharashtra government is involved in the construction of the Palkhi Highway and the state government will not allow any shortage of necessary facilities for the Warkaris on this Palkhi Highway. Also at Wakhri, an arena ceremony is organized by Warkaris. Therefore, the decision taken by the central government to connect Wakhri to Pandharpur by highway is very important, he said.
Stating that every step of the Maharashtra government is with the Center in the construction of Palkhi Highway and roads passing through Maharashtra, Chief Minister Thackeray said that the roads leading to Pandharpur i.e. Bhakti Marg should be good and added that Vithumauli would be blessed to complete this work soon. The Warkari sect has preserved the tradition of Wari even in the most adverse conditions. He clarified that the state government will also take the initiative in creating all the facilities required for those Warkaris.
Union Minister for Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari stated that the whole of Maharashtra including Pandharpur is the land of saints and Pandharpur is a special place of inspiration. Efforts are being made to preserve the cultural heritage here through the Palkhi Highway. The Central Government is constructing various national highways across the country, including Bharat Mata Yojana, Ram Gaman Marg, Ram Janki Marg, Buddhist Circle, Manas Sarovar Marg. Gadkari said.
In the same vein, the Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi Highway in Maharashtra is 231 km long and Rs 7,000 crore has been allocated for it. This is being done in a total of five packages, out of which work is underway on four packages, he said. Mr Gadkari informed that the length of Sant Tukaram Palkhi Highway is 130 km and a provision of Rs. 5,000 crore has been made for this work. The state government will provide Rs 1438 crore for this highway and he appealed to the Maharashtra government to take initiative to create facilities for Warkaris on this highway.
The road from Wakhri to Pandharpur was not included in the palanquin highway earlier but a fund of Rs 74 crore is being sanctioned for the work of this five km road and this road has also been included in the highway. Gadkari gave.
Initially, a total of 13 highway projects were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of dignitaries by pressing a key through a virtual system. Earlier, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the replica of the Palkhi Highway and sought information from the concerned authorities. Afterwards, in connection with the public dedication and Bhumi Pujan ceremony of this highway, Shri Yogesh Desai, Head of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg and Shri More, Head of Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg were felicitated by Union Road Transport Minister Shri. Gadkari.
MP Jay Siddheshwar Mahaswami, Ranjit Singh Naik Nimbalkar, Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar, MLA Prashant Paricharak, Babandada Shinde, Chandrakant Patil, Samadhan Avtade, Vijay Kumar Deshmukh, Subhash Deshmukh, Ranjit Singh Mohite Patil, former MP Vijay Singh were present on the occasion. Patil, District Collector Milind Shambharkar and a large number of dignitaries and saints were present.
