Establishment of State Educational Technology Forum in collaboration with reputed IT companies from around the world for the improvement of school education.
Mumbai: Radical changes are taking place in the education system against the backdrop of Covid-19. Maharashtra has always been at the forefront of using the latest technology. State Education Technology Forum has been set up in collaboration with reputed IT companies from all over the world to provide quality education to the last students in rural areas as well as to improve the education sector, said Prof. Varsha Gaikwad, Minister for School Education. A ruling in this regard has been issued today.
Information technology helps every component in the field of education to develop their efficiency, skills and effectiveness. An Educational Technology Forum has been set up under the chairmanship of the Minister of School Education to promote the proper use of technology in the education sector in the state as well. It will have the support of Google, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Persistent, Dell, Amazon, C-DAC and many more. The Minister of State for School Education will be the Vice President of this forum. The members of this forum will be Additional Chief Secretary of School Education Department, Commissioner of Education, State Project Director of Primary Education Council, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department, Principal Secretary of Information Technology Department and Director of State Council for Educational Research and Training.
This forum is being set up under the auspices of the Department of School Education to discuss the development of various systems of teachers, students and school education in the light of the latest developments in technology. This forum will discuss these changes and decide on appropriate policy and guidance. The government will provide policy advice on important issues related to student and teacher upliftment, stress management system, school visits, training monitoring, updating of educational documents, integration of all systems on a single platform. The term of this committee will be for three years.
