The Governor paid a heartfelt tribute to Shivshahir.
Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Padma Vibhushan Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare.
It was very sad to hear the news of the demise of Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, who kept the character of Chhatrapati Shivaji alive till his last breath.
Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare was a supernatural personality of great genius. His life was overwhelmed by the thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Maharaj was obsessed with his every breath. He did a great job of conveying the history of Shivaji Maharaj to the masses through his writings, lectures and dramas like ‘Janata Raja’.
He had recently visited Shivsrushti and after that, he was fortunate enough to discuss with him when he came to Raj Bhavan for an award ceremony. The real tribute to him will be to realize the dream of Shiv Srishti and spread the history of Shivaji Maharaj far and wide.
We believe that coming to Maharashtra and getting acquainted with Shivshahir Babasaheb and getting his affection is a great achievement in our life. So his demise is sad for us even on a personal level. The governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to his family and fans on the occasion.
