Mumbai: – The state government stands firmly behind all the farmers in the state including soybean and cotton growers. A delegation of the state government will meet the Prime Minister on cotton issues including soybeans coming under the purview of the central government. In the forthcoming session of Parliament, the MPs of Mahavikas Aghadi will raise such issues in the House, testified Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today. The Deputy Chief Minister was directed to immediately register a case against the insurance companies for cheating the farmers by creating false records.
He was speaking at a meeting on various issues of soybean-cotton growers chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Committee Hall of the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office in the Ministry.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the distribution of aid announced by the state government to the flood victims in the state has started and it will be expedited. Banks should not withhold subsidies and financial assistance to farmers under any circumstances. This amount should not be credited to the loan account of the farmers, instructions will be given to the concerned banks. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has been directed to immediately register a case against the insurance companies for cheating the farmers by creating false records.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was instructed to provide assistance from the CSR fund along with the Employment Guarantee Scheme for the reclamation of eroded lands along the river. The state government has introduced a solar pump scheme to ensure smooth and adequate power supply to agricultural pumps during the day, and this scheme should be implemented more efficiently. He said that work was underway to deposit the loan waiver amount in the accounts of the farmers who were eligible for the loan waiver. He said that the state government stood firmly behind the farmers in the state.
