New Delhi: The products of small scale entrepreneurs in Maharashtra like turmeric, raisins, spices, leather products, bamboo furniture, paithani sarees, kolhapuri chappal etc. are gaining popularity among consumers at home and abroad at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) in the capital.

On behalf of the Small Scale Industries Development Corporation of Maharashtra, a hall has been set up in Hall No. 2 at Pragati Maidan, equipped with the state’s electric vehicle policy, important projects in the state, various startup products and handicraft products. The India Trade Promotion Organization of the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry (India Trade Promotion Organization) has organized the 40th India International Trade Fair.

Sangli products in the country and abroad through the initiative of the state government

Under the Maharashtra Rural Livelihoods Campaign (UMED), Lalaso Bhosale’s stall at Wangi in Kadegaon taluka of Sangli district has a single crowd of customers. Customers who buy products from this stall are happy to get quality products at reasonable prices. Lalaso Bhosle, the head of the stall, has been attending the fair for the last four years and expressed satisfaction that his products are reaching out to customers at home and abroad due to the opportunity provided by the state government.

Kolhapuri, Shahu and Kurungwali slippers

At the stalls of Mahila Economic Development Corporation (MAVIM) and Umaid’s self-help groups, special footwear for sale along with Kolhapuri slippers, Warlipainting are attracting customers. Consumers are enthusiastically buying Kapasi, Kurungwali, Mojesef, Shahu Chappal, Paper Kapasi along with typical Kolhapuri Chappals at the stall of ‘Amhi Kolhapuri Chappal’ of Siddhai Mahila Bachat Group in Kolhapur. Seema Kamble, head of Siddhai Mahila Bachat Gat, said that since 2016, she has been associated with the state government’s ‘Umed’ campaign and for the first time, India has participated in an international fair. He also said that he was happy to be participating in this world-class fair and that his products were reaching out to a wide range of customers.

Consumers are also liking Mavim’s ‘Krantijyoti Warli Painting Unit’ warlibags and attractive products on garment stalls. Reena Jadhav and Shamsunnisa Iqbal Khute of Warli Painting Unit are also happy. The stall of the carpet cluster at Chandrapur and the carpet wall framing, bamboo cover diary at Chandrapur, which is part of Mavim’s ‘Chanda to Banda’ scheme, are also attracting customers. There is a stall of Pratiksha Handicraft at Moshikhamb in Gadchiroli district under the Tribal Research Training Institute. Shubham Leather and Leather Foam Industry in Aurangabad affiliated with Khadi Village Industries Corporation has also been selling attractive leather products. The head of the stall, Gajanan Purushottam, has been associated with the Khadi Village Industries Corporation since 2008 and is participating in the trade fair for the first time. The bamboo furniture stall ‘Woodgrass’ at Kudal in Sindhudurg district is also attracting the attention of customers and traders visiting Maharashtra Dal. The Woodgrass initiative is just one month old and in a short span of time, the state government has made it possible for it to showcase and sell its products at this international fair.

The products of eight clusters of industries in the state are on display and for sale at the stalls here and all these stalls are getting good responses from the customers. Attractive stalls have been set up in the Maharashtra Hall informing about the recently announced Electric Vehicle Policy of the State Government, various startups, Aurangabad Industrial City, Coastal Road Project. Upon entering the hall, a large lightning bolt conveying the message of self-reliance and special bicycles, drones and washroom oder free instruments revolving around it are the attraction of the customers visiting the hall.

Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika, an attractive stall giving information about Aurangabad Industrial City, Maharashtra Industry Trade and Investment Cooperation Center (Maitri) are also attracting visitors from the trade and industry sector.
