Nagar Panchayat elections tomorrow in some parts of the state.
In some parts of the state, polling for the Nagar Panchayat elections is going on tomorrow and the campaign for it stopped last night. The counting of votes will take place on January 19.
In the Sangli district, polling will be held for three Nagar Panchayat elections namely Kavathe Mahankal, Khanapur and Kadegaon and voting will be held for 13 seats in each Nagar Panchayat. Due to the cancellation of other backward class reservations, there are twelve seats available in the open category, four seats each. Voting for it will take place on January 18. After that, the combined counting of votes for all the seats will take place on January 19.
Polling will also be held for Tivsa and Bhatkuli Nagar Panchayats in the Amravati district.
On the last day of the campaign for the four Nagar Panchayats of Kudal, Devgad-Jamsande, Vabhave-Vaibhavwadi and Kasai-Dodamarg in Sindhudurg district, all the political parties rallied. In this election of four Nagar Panchayats, 154 candidates are in the fray for 52 seats.
Meanwhile, the administration is ready for the elections and strict police security has been maintained in all Nagar Panchayat areas.
