Peaceful voting took place today for the general elections of 106 Nagar Panchayats in the state.
Voting was held today for the Bhandara-Gondia Zilla Parishad and all the Panchayat Samitis under it, for the 123 Gram Panchayats in Beed district, and for the by-elections for one vacant post each in the three metros of Dhule, Ahmednagar and Nanded-Waghala. Preliminary figures are available for some of them.
Polling was held for three Nagar Panchayats in the Sangli district. Young and old voters voted with great enthusiasm. One hundred-year-old grandmother Shantabai Loveji More exercised her right to vote for the Khanapur Nagar Panchayat election.
In Raigad district, Pali, Poladpur, Mangaon, Mhasla, Tala and Khalapur Nagar Panchayats also got 65 intended 83 per cent voting till 3.30 pm.
In Dhule district, for the Sakri Nagar Panchayat election, 64 integers 48 per cent voting was recorded till 3.30 pm.
According to preliminary information, the turnout for Badnapur, Mantha, Jafrabad, Ghansawangi and Tirthpuri Nagar Panchayat elections in Jalna district was 70% till 5 pm.
For Naigaon Nagar Panchayat in Nanded district 79 integers 04 per cent and for Ardhapur Nagar Panchayat 65 integers 58 per cent voting took place.
Till the end of polling for Manora Nagar Panchayat election in Washim district, 76 integers 23 per cent voting has taken place. In the Osmanabad district, voting has taken place for Vashi and Lohara Nagar Panchayat. 51% of voters exercised their right to vote for 13 seats of Vashi Nagar Panchayat till 1.30 pm.
Voting was peaceful in 4 Nagar Panchayats of Sindhudurg district. Till 3:30 pm, 60 integers 42 per cent for Kudal Nagar Panchayat, 75 integers 87 per cent for Vabhave Vaibhavwadi Nagar Panchayat, 70 integers 53 per cent for Kasai Dodamarg Nagar Panchayat and 62 integers 97 per cent for Devgad Jamsunde.
In the Wardha district, for four Nagar Panchayat elections, 63 integers 70 per cent voting has taken place. In Chandrapur district, for the general election of Savli, Pombhurna, Gondpipri, Jivti, Sindevahi-Lonvahi Nagar Panchayat and for the by-election of Nagbhid Municipal Council, an average of 62 intended 82 per cent voting was done till 3:30 pm.
In Gadchiroli, for 9 Nagar Panchayats, 75 integers and 41 per cent voting was done till 3 pm. The counting of votes for all these elections will take place on January 19.
