Atal Ranking of 2021 at National Level Announced: Number one among State Universities
Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University is ranked eighth in the country in the ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement’ of the Union Ministry of Education, while Savitribai Phule Pune University is ranked first among the state level universities. The Center for Innovation in the University has gained a place in the national rankings in a span of only two and a half years.
It has been two and a half years since the University Innovation Center was started. It is a matter of joy and pride that in such a short span of time, we have been ranked eighth in the country at the national level, competing with the universities of technology.

The All India Council for Technical Education, under the auspices of the Central Government, publishes a national ranking of educational institutions for the purpose of ‘innovation and entrepreneurship development in educational institutions and universities in the country. In the year 2021, one thousand 438 educational institutions in the country had participated in this ranking. It also includes institutes like IIT, NIT IISC etc. In this, Savitribai Phule Pune University has got a place in the list of top ten state universities in the country. Union Minister of State for Education Dr Subhash Sarkar announced the rankings on Wednesday.
The University has set up an ‘Innovation Cell’ to inculcate a culture of innovation and startup on campus and in affiliated colleges. We strive for innovation and innovation through the integration of education, industry and social issues. This is a testament to the work done by the university.

While giving information about this, the director of innovation, innovation and association centre, Dr Apoorva Palkar said that many programs related to startups, innovations, artificial intelligence etc. were held in India. The university has implemented joint ventures, with many organizations like Innovation Park, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mumbai, Department of Science and Technology, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Venture Center.
Also started many short and long term courses. Consistently trained professors. The University has seven Excellence Centers. The university has professors who specialize in innovation and industry. Through the guidance program, the university has been connected with many industry experts. At present, there are 40 startups in the university and an innovation cell has been set up in 340 affiliated colleges.
