Pune: National Voters Day program will be organized on 25th January 2022 in the district. Various activities will be organized on the occasion of Voters’ Day and voters should participate in these activities, appealed District Collector, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh.
He was speaking at a meeting on National Voters’ Day organized at the Collectorate. Deputy District Election Officer Mrinalini Sawant was present on the occasion. District Collector Dr Deshmukh said that January 25, 2022, will be celebrated as National Voters’ Day. The Election Commission has directed to celebrate this year’s National Voters’ Day in schools and colleges. The program should be planned accordingly. He said that in order to ensure maximum participation of students, various competitions should be organized for the students before 25th January, in which coordination of all departments would be important.
The participation of colleges in this initiative will be very important to encourage the new voters who have completed 18 years of age to register their names in the electoral rolls on the occasion of Voters’ Day. Therefore, college boys and girls should also participate in this initiative, he appealed.

Deputy District Election Officer Mrinalini Sawant gave detailed information about the organization of the National Voters Day program. Chief officers of various departments as well as rural and urban polling registration officers were present on the occasion.
