Strict action against those who spread rumours and racial hatred through social media.

Pune: On the backdrop of the Jayasthambh salutation ceremony to be held on January 1 at Perne Fata, in order to maintain the safety of citizens and maintain law and order, restrictive orders have been imposed in the Pune City Police Commissionerate from midnight 31st December to midnight 2nd January 2022 under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973.

According to this, it will be the responsibility of the person posting and the group admin to ensure that no person will post or forward false information, spreading hateful messages, spreading hate speech through social media like Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook etc. Banners, flex, hoardings in public places without the written permission of local administration and police will be prohibited in the villages of Pune City Commissionerate. There will be concessions to government departments and agencies.

Anyone violating this order will be liable to punishment as per Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, said Pune City Police Commissioner Dr Ravindra Shiswe.
